The names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt were written down and they were numbered. The generation which included Joseph and his brothers had died. The sons of Israel were exceedingly fruitful and multiplied greatly. a New king to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. The Egyptians put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor. The more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread. The Egyptians worked them ruthlessly. The King of Egypt instructed the Hebrew midwives to kill the Hebrew boys at birth. The midwives disobeyed the King of Egypt. God was kind to the midwives and the people increased.
Is any of this a coincidence?
If it was, then so was the King of Egypt’s instruction that every boy that is born must be thrown into the river Nile
What a provocative thought? Israel’s deliverance from Egypt would come through a boy who was deliberately placed into the river Nile, by His mother
………..and more so, that my deliverance and your deliverance from our “Egypt”, would not come from efforts on our part to please God, but through His only begotten Son being cast into the river of His wrath, for us!
